During my residency, I had the opportunity to create three science kits with reusable materials for a teacher at my placement school. Two of my professors secured a grant to create reusable science kits for rural schools. When they presented this in one of our courses, I jumped at the opportunity! I worked with a science teacher at my placement school to select the concepts that were difficult to teach without proper materials. Once we selected the concepts and useful materials, I worked with my professor to create a list of items to order and add to each kit. After receiving the kits, I was able to teach a lesson about energy using one of them. We made solar ovens and the students loved it!
